Munich is set to become the tenth global destination — and the second in Germany — to host the acclaimed Formula 1 Exhibition when it opens on 20 May 2026 at Pineapple Park.
The announcement marks another milestone in the exhibition’s worldwide tour, which has already captivated more than 1.3 million visitors across major cities including Madrid, Vienna, London, Amsterdam, Oberhausen, Toronto, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, and Melbourne.
The decision to bring the exhibition to Munich follows the overwhelming success of its German debut in Oberhausen, where more than 150,000 visitors have already explored the immersive showcase. The strong turnout reaffirmed Germany’s deep-rooted passion for motorsport and its longstanding connection to Formula 1.
Celebrating Germany’s motorsport legacy
Germany’s influence on Formula 1 runs deep — from legendary world champions Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, and Nico Rosberg, to iconic circuits such as the Nürburgring and Hockenheimring, and powerhouse constructors including Mercedes and the sport’s newest entrant, Audi, represented on the 2026 grid by German driver Nico Hülkenberg.
Munich, widely regarded as one of Europe’s cultural and technological capitals, offers a fitting backdrop for the next chapter of the exhibition’s journey. As a hub for innovation, science, business, and sport, the Bavarian capital aligns naturally with Formula 1’s blend of engineering excellence and global entertainment.
A 3,000-Square-Metre Immersive Experience
Spanning approximately 3,000 square metres, the Formula 1 Exhibition leads visitors through a series of themed rooms that explore the sport’s most defining stories, dramatic turning points, and groundbreaking technological revolutions.
The show features: legendary original race cars, exclusive archival material, including images, audio, and photography, large-scale installations, and interactive experiences designed to bring fans closer to the world of Formula 1.
Among the standout displays are the Mercedes W02, driven in 2011 by German icons Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg, and Max Verstappen’s RB16B, the car that secured the Dutch driver’s first of four consecutive world championships.
Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer at Formula 1, expressed excitement about expanding the exhibition’s presence in Germany: “After the incredible response to the Formula 1 Exhibition in Oberhausen, we are delighted to announce Munich as the next stop on the European tour.
“Germany has a rich motorsport heritage and the arrival of Audi to the grid this season further deepens the sport’s connection with the country.
“F1 Exhibition has been a great success around the world, and we look forward to even more people experiencing the drama and excitement of Formula 1 in this latest instalment.”
Jonathan Linden, Co‑CEO of Round Room Live and Producer of The Formula 1® Exhibition, highlighted Munich’s significance as a host city: “Following the fantastic German debut in Oberhausen, it was clear that we wanted to bring the excitement of the F1 Exhibition to even more fans in Germany.
“The city of Munich, with its deep history in the sport and proximity to manufacturers involved in the World Championship such as Mercedes and Audi, as well as the striking Pineapple Park venue, is the perfect location to bring The F1 Exhibition to Munich.”
