Just days after the Japanese Grand Prix, Ferrari is preparing to return to the track. During the forced break caused by the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian grands prix, the Scuderia has planned two on-track sessions with the SF-25.

Tomorrow, Ferrari’s test team will be at Mugello to begin two days of TPC (Testing of Previous Cars). There will be no race drivers at Ferrari’s home circuit; instead, the test drivers who contribute to the car’s development in the simulator will take part.

The drivers rotating behind the wheel will therefore be Antonio Giovinazzi, Arthur Leclerc, and Antonio Fuoco, in what will be a valuable training session.

With the introduction of the 2026 regulations, the agile single-seaters have nothing in common with the previous ground-effect cars. For this reason, the FIA has allowed the use of last year’s cars for TPC programmes: the Scuderia will in fact use the SF-25, ts 2025 machine, whereas it previously was mandatory to field cars that were at least two years old.

Ferrari will then go to Monza to carry out the second filming day: according to reports, the chosen date is Tuesday, April 21. The choice of the “Temple of Speed” is not random, since within the 200 km allowed by the regulations, the SF-26 will be able to evaluate the car’s behaviour on one of the most demanding tracks for energy recovery.

The event, which will involve the two race drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, will be important not only for commercial filming but especially to assess the progress made in energy recovery and aerodynamic development.

The “Macarena” wing will certainly be used, as it will be part of the aerodynamic package set to debut in Miami when the championship resumes on 3 May.

Meanwhile, on 9 and 10 February, there will also be a Pirelli test at Fiorano for wet-weather tires, which had previously been postponed.
